Grenache Mourvedre Shiraz by Penfolds of Barossa Valley. The palate is rich and vibrant displaying ripe spicy fruit, toffee and walnuts framed by smoky oak with a lifted cleansing finish. Penfolds glory years throughout the first half of the twentieth crentury were essentially as a producer of fortified wines, excellent new-world Ports that were exported globally, and relied upon for quality and consistency back at home. Penfolds have been producing world renowned, fine fortified wines for almost a century before the advent of a shift in winemaking philosophy that would have a profound effect on the Australian wine industry even today. Penfolds Club continues to offer the same quality and unassailable value year in and year out.
