Vintaged from a single block of magnificent old vines on the cooler climes of Eden Valley high. Heirloom are all about identifying and rejuvenating superior parcels, a patient and painstaking approach to the resurrection of venerable elder plantings, for the realization of profoundly structured, powerful yet elegant wines. Heirloom»
The wines of Wignall were met with resounding success from the first release, inaugural vintages saw amazing results, attracting conspicuous gold medal and trophy victories. Fruit driven and voluptuous to drink, Wignall have refined the style of their Albany Pinot Noir to be bliss for the most discerning palates. Wignalls»
Lenton Brae can justifiably claim to be one of Margaret River's leading proponents of the ebullient fusion between Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, having claimed multi trophies and gold medals for the style at regional, state and national competitions. The site was chosen after a chance conversation with the owner of Moss Wood who mentioned that the soils were uniformly excellent and equal to those of the eminent vineyard nearby. Lenton Brae»
The uncompromising pursuit of excellence brings the Yealands team to the extreme viticultural climes of Gibbston Valley in Central Otago. It is here under the frigid cloudless night skies that Pinot Noir vines, planted to undulating granite schist soils, struggle to yield harvests of parched grapes, redolent with cherry berry perfumes, bursting with an intensity of flavour and wrapped in a muslin of seamless, velvet tannins. Yealands Estate»
Excellent Langtons Classification. Winner of Australia's most coveted award, the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for vintage 1992, Elderton are one of the nation's great icon winemakers. Elderton»
A vineyard of some historical import, Bernoota is the original block, planted to the Follett family homestead along the banks of River Bremer, two decades before federation. A splendid construct of Langhorne Creek Shiraz Cabernet, selected from old vines around the distinguished Follett family vineyard, perennially released to resounding accolades. Lake Breeze»
After many years of dedication to formulating superb Eden Valley Riesling, Elderton have again achieved an excellent expression of the genre, paradoxically the most underrated style of wine in Australia. Small harvests of fruit which show wonderful primary, zesty characters and delicate acid structures are the foundation. Elderton»
Brookland Valley Estate made a conspiuous impression through their stirling efforts at Cabernet Merlot when they claimed several significant trophies, including the hotly contested Qantas Best Wine of Show. Expressing fully the generous palate structure and aromatic richness of the stylish Margaret River Cab Merlot accord, beautifully perfumed, bramble flavoured wine, brimming with the quality and elegance which has earned Brookland Valley Estate a five star reputation. Brookland Valley»
An exciting innovation in a Methode traditionnelle, enriched by strawberry. A component of Pinot Noir is treated to extended time on skins for perfect uptake of charming rose colour, to be blended back with Chardonnay after primary ferments. Lindauer»
Outstanding Langtons Classification. The locals around the Lovedale property say that the sandy soils are so poor, that even the rabbits have to bring a tucker box just to survive! The lean and mean terroir is elemental to the long lived, fine boned style. Mount Pleasant»
The Lovedale district of Hunter Valley is synonymous with world class Semillon. Resolved to make a transition from mining to wining, the De Iuliis family acquired a grazing property along Lovedale Road and established vines in the early 1990s. De Iuliis»
Given the scarcity of Best's prestige, limited release, old vineyard icons, Bin #1 affords enthusiasts their first taste of the Great Western Shiraz style and leaves them eager to discover more. A classic, cool climate, aromatic wine, floral and spicy, peppery and elegant, retaining vital Great Western fruit character. Bests»

For almost two decades the renowned Mitchelton winery has been producing the immensely popular Preece range of wines

In 1967 Melbourne entrepreneur Ross Shelmerdine commisioned wine industry stalwart Colin Pearce to find the best site for premium grape growing anywhere in south eastern Australia. Preece chose an old grazing estate, prized for it's climate, soil and proximity to the waterways. Colin Preece, one of the great winemakers of the 20th century, and for decades chief winemaker at Seppelt Great Western, came out of a ten-year retirement to help found Mitchelton in 1973.

Led by viticulturalist John Beresford, the Mitchelton winemakers are caretakers rather than scientists. They like running Victorian dirt through their fingers, nuturing the vines but letting the grapes do all the real talking. Each of the delicately crafted, single varietal wines displays the pinnacle of cool climate complex aromas, intense flavour, a spectrum of perfumes, refinement and distinction. It shows every time you open a bottle of Preece.

Grapes grown in different climates produce very different styles of wine. This is because the cooler the climate, the slower it takes for the grapes to ripen, and the longer the grapes have to ripen, the more time they have to perfect their flavour. Anyone who knows anything about Victorian weather knows that, even in the warmest months, Victoria can be pretty cool. To ensure the fruit ripens, the grapes are left on the vines up to three months longer than in other wine regions.

It's in this time that the grapes are afforded the luxury of slow ripening, allowing them to develop a greater spectrum and depth of flavour, wonderfully delicate aromas and a backbone of freshness. Not even a fast paced world will hurry the grapes from the Mitchelton vineyards into ripening sooner.

Combining years of hands-on experience and an intimate understanding of the estate, the Preece philosophy is to unlock the best fruit from Victorian vineyards through innovation and attention to detail. A diversity of vineyard sites creates a rich range of fine wines brimming with a complex balance of flavours. The unique microclimates of the Mitchelton Preece vine parcels allow the development of a more intense spectrum of elegant flavours and delicious lifted aromas.

Coupled with judicious use of innovative winemaking techniques, this approach gives shape and definition to the expressive qualities of Preece, creating wines of distinct personality, finesse and longevity. With the focus on individual block-targeting, each vineyard is selected for the most suitable grape variety, clone and rootstock combination. This intensive approach ensures every Preece wine achieves its full potential, expressing superior flavour profiles and good structure.
